Musician and songwriter Ali Comerford invites you to share your stories for a new music project at the National Opera House as part of RESONATE 2023.
Earlier this month we announced Ali Comerford as the RESONATE artist-in-residence at the National Opera House for 2023.
Ali, a violinist, violist and songwriter, will develop a new project titled Just This Once.... inspired by stories submitted by the public which will be presented in concert at the Jerome Hynes Theatre in The National Opera House on Sunday 3 December.
We invite you to submit a story to Ali about something, or someone, that means a lot to you that you think deserves a song. Your stories can be submitted via an online form until Tuesday 8 August.
Your story can be happy, funny or sad, it can be about something ordinary or something extraordinary, it can be about anything or anyone at all as long as it is something significant to you.
Ali will write a series of songs inspired by a selection of these stories which she will perform in concert at The National Opera House in Wexford on Sunday 3 December.

About RESONATE
Now in its 3rd year, RESONATE provides support for professional musicians with a strong track record in music performance to develop new work and/or collaborations. Each residency provides a grant of €6,000 to enable the selected musicians to devote time to the creation of new work, in addition to a range of in-kind supports from both Music Network and each venue partner along with opportunities to showcase the work through live performances and digital updates.
This programme brings some of Ireland’s most established professional musicians to cultural spaces across Ireland between July and December 2023. This residency is one of six opportunities as part of RESONATE 2023, Music Network’s artist residency programme in partnership with glór (Ennis), Ionad Cultúrtha (Baile Mhúirne), The National Opera House (Wexford), Triskel Arts Centre (Cork City), The Dock (Carrick-On-Shannon) and Regional Cultural Centre (Letterkenny).
This year's RESONATE artists in residence are Ali Comerford at the National Opera House, Niamh O’Brien at Ionad Cultúrtha, Phil Robson at Regional Cultural Centre, Zoé Basha at glór, Ultan O’Brien at The Dock and Vicky Langan at Triskel Arts Centre.
